Mcleish Bound To Birmingham

Thwarted
Alex Mcleish's attempts to resign from Birmingham have been thwarted after it has now emmerged that Birmingham have rejected his resignation. Birmingham are now seeking financial compensation from him.

The Scot has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and it has now been confirmed that Aston Villa have approached Birmingham about him. However Birmingham told Villa that he was not available for talks and are now seeking legal advice.

Mcleish resigned by email which has been deemed "irresponsible from the Birmingham chairman. The former Rangers manager still had at least 2 years left to complete on his contract before he resigned yesterday.

Pannu told the Daily Express: "He is still our contracted staff and Birmingham City FC does not grant him any right to speak to any outsiders until the matter is resolved.
"It's about time discipline is instilled into this game and I am not a person who gets pushed about."
